01 Mar Lissome’s Programs – Creating a community
Most people think that Lissome has arisen from our founders name ‘Alissa’ but in actual fact it stems off our tag line ‘Agile, Nimble and Active’. Our vision at Lissome is to create an agile, nimble and active community via the incorporation of proactive therapy (Physiotherapy, Pilates, Technique courses) and creating a place for people who are like minded to come together and exercise in great company.
HOW ARE WE DOING THIS?
Lissome is spearheading a number of great initiatives to get people involved and out there.
Social Run/walk (Tuesday – 5:30am)
Our social run is a FREE event that is open to individuals of all levels. We start from Lissome Physiotherapy and Technique Studios (12, 11 Karp Court, Bundall (Gold Coast) QLD 4217) on a Tuesday morning and the sessions are taken by our Physiotherapist, Alissa. The sessions vary from easy runs through to harder run strength sessions. All the sessions can be self paced – but the best part about it is you get to come and meet new people and enjoy a great running atmosphere.
Park Run (Main Beach)
We are creating a Saturday run which focuses around the great initiative of Park Run in Main Beach. We are encouraging all our runners to get out there at 7am on a Saturday and join us for a light snack and drink afterwards.
We’ve had a great turn out so far and would love to see people coming out to be part of this great exercise initiative!
We are offering Community Pilates which is a way to test out Equipment Pilates and see if it is right for you! We create a circuit class that rotates across reformers, wunda chairs and Trapeze. This is a great affordable way for people to get out and get exercising!
This program will continue to grow as the need for the program grows!
We love our Lissome Community and will continue to grow our community programs to ensure that getting out exercises and staying fit is n0t a privilege but is achievable for everyone!
